Question and Answer with Quinn I. Miklos, NCARB, Registered Architect

Q?

Looking at your diverse portfolio of Architectural projects, your work encompasses many different styles and project types. M&A has designed Residential Estates, Medical Facilities, Mausoleums, Automobile Dealerships, Multi-Family Developments and entire Residential Communities. Each project seems to embody it’s own unique style. Is there one consistent belief or theme in your work?

A.

Yes, the one consistent approach to any of our projects is that the Client’s needs are what make each projects successful and unique. The Client’s dreams and aspirations are Our inspiration. As an Architect, you have to be a good communicator, both verbally and graphically. But, more importantly you must be a good listener and address their concerns as well the Client’s vision of their own project.

Q?

Miklos and Associates’ work has been featured on national television, books and countless magazines. Is there one experience that is memorable?

A.

Each recognition of Our work is special to Our Office. I remember when We were published in Architectural Digest for the first time, I felt honored to be within the community of great Architects and Designers. It was truly a humbling experience. We also did some projects for ABC’s Extreme Makeover After the Storm edition were We assisted rebuilding a Church in New Orleans and a Baseball Field Complex in Florida.

Both of those projects were rewarding from both Architectural and personal perspective. Changing lives through Architecture is a very meaningful experience. I remember with the Baseball Field Complex seeing hundreds of individuals united for the betterment of the community. We were proud to be involved in such a worthy cause.

Q?

Tell us about Miklos and Associates, your Firm has quite an interesting formula for project success.

A.

Well, Our Firm was founded in 1983 by my father, Gregory C. Miklos. My father realized that there was a need for an Architectural Firm that focused on very creative, highly customized design solutions with a strong emphasis on construction know how. Very few Architectural firms can see the Client’s vision from concept to completion. Architecture, performed at a high level is a combination between artistry and engineering. Our firm excels in both those areas. That actually touches on one of Our core beliefs; “From Concept to Completion You Dreams are Our Inspiration.”

Q?

Miklos and Associates has such a broad base of experience in Architecture. What do you attribute this to?

A.

Our staff is united in their pursuit of visionary Architectural solutions. We are custom Architects in every sense of the word. We design the buildings, select the materials, work with the suppliers who craft our one of a kind design elements and manage the construction process to completion. Because of our experience with each facet of the building process we can take a very hands on approach to deliver highly customized Design solutions. I, myself am a sixth generation Architect. The passion to create Architecture is a family tradition that spans hundreds of years.

Q?

What advice do you have for someone who is in the process of selecting an Architect?

A.

Many factors should go into the selection of a qualified Architect. I think one of the greatest indicators of an Architect’s experience, talent and future performance is their Design portfolio. One should ask, how many successful projects have they completed? Do the projects that the Architect has completed excite you, as a potential Client? How do their former Clients feel about the Architectural environments that they live, work or spend time in. Also, ask about the Architect’s educational background, professional affiliations and if they are licensed to practice Architecture in the state in which the project is located in. An Architect is responsible for the appearance, feel, functionality and quality of life that their Buildings create.
